The new nail technician at Renue Salon, Spa and Fashion Boutique, 1419 Main, is gratified that she has found a home at long-time Great Bend business.

Valeria Mendez, a Ness County native, is now accepting clients who seek professional nail care.

“I already feel comfortable at Renue because it has been a successful fixture downtown for about 15 years,” Mendez said. “Since I am an independent contractor, the stability is important.”

Mendez added that she is pleased to be part of the nail-technician team at Renue. Her colleagues are Angela Liebl, Lisa Linsner and Evann Newton.

“This is a friendly, professional group,” she commented. “I anticipate the four of us can satisfy our clients’ needs.”

Nail services include all types of manicures, including acrylic and gel, along with pedicures.

“Sometimes clients know exactly what they want,” Mendez noted. “Those who are uncertain are encouraged to come in and discover the possibilities. I will talk with them about nail color, length and glitter. Whatever they want, we can help – from something simple to something more eye-catching.”

Mendez graduated from the Hays Academy and is licensed by the Kansas Board of Cosmetology.

She began her nail-technician career during the spring of 2020, at the beginning of the pandemic. She worked from her home in Bazine and at a Dodge City salon.

Mendez now lives in Great Bend. Her brother and mentor, Juan Mendez, also lives here.
