Virtual wheat demonstration plot tours offered by CED
Stacy Campbell
Stacy Campbell

On Monday, June 1 at 9:30 a.m. the Cottonwood Extension District will be having a virtual wheat demonstration plot tour for wheat growers, and the supporting ag industries.

This will be in a format of a recorded Zoom meeting. I will moderate and open the plot tour with an introduction of the background information of each variety plot in Barton and Ellis County and recognize the cooperators. After the introduction our Extension specialist will discuss the individual varieties in each demonstration plot as to their strengths, weaknesses, and adaptation. There will be a slide set with a photo of each variety included in our demonstration plots.

I have put the signs up at each plot with an information sheet posted in a box for the public to look at any time. The Barton County demonstration plot is located 1/8 of a mile north of Susank on the west side of the blacktop. The Ellis County plot is located 2 miles north of the Victoria I-70 exit on Cathedral Avenue.

To join us during this event or at a later date the Zoom link is below. To prevent zoom bombing of trolls or bots, you will need a password. You can go to our website for the password www.cottonwood.ksu.edu or email me scampbel@ksu.edu or Alicia aboor@ksu.edu or you can contact our offices in Great Bend 620-793-1910 and Hays 785-628-9430 for the password.

This will be recorded so you do not have to listen to it live at 9:30 a.m. on June 1. You can always listen and watch it at a later date!

If you have any questions give me a call or email at the Hays office.
