Barton County Public Information Officer Donna Zimmerman reported 18 new confirmed COVID-19 cases in Barton County as of 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 8. This updated the report from 3 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 4.
Tuesdays cases – nine men and nine women – include five residing in Great Bend, one in Hoisington, two in Pawnee Rock and 10 in rural Barton County.
Barton County has now had 329 positive cases – 147 males and 182 females; 94 of those remain active (down from 99 on Friday) and there have been 5 deaths. The county has issued 2,336 quarantine or isolation orders and 566 of those are active (down from 603 on Friday).

The Kansas Department of Health and Environment reported there have been 46,914 positive cases statewide as of 9 a.m. Monday, Sept. 7. There have been 2,441 hospitalizations and 485 deaths. There were 1,694 new cases and four new deaths reported since Friday, Sept. 4. There have been 389,772 negative tests.
