The Barton County Treasurer’s Office is concerned about the impact of coronavirus has on how it serves the public, Treasurer Jim Jordan said. “I encourage citizens to renew online or to mail renewals.”
There is a drop box in the Courthouse main lobby and on the second floor next to the Treasurer’s Office. Both are checked hourly.
“You can drop off your taxes, renewals or any communication you may need,” he said. “Work is generally processed the same day and renewals or receipts will be mailed to you.”
This month those with last names starting with B have tags that will expire on March 31. “We encourage you to renew at your earliest convenience. Access to staff for renewal at the end of the month is normally limited,” Jordan said.
“We want to do our part in keeping our staff healthy as well as doing our part in serving the community,” he said. “I am cognizant of your needs and we will continue to serve you the very best we can.”
