The fifth known COVID-19 related death of a Barton County resident was confirmed Saturday in a statement from Barton County Administrator Phil Hathcock.

The Kansas Department of Health and Environment reported Friday, Aug. 28, that there have been 41,048 confirmed and probable COVID-19 cases, resulting in 2,278 hospitalizations and 443 deaths. There have been 362,099 negative tests.
