Front Door utilities building closes due to COVID

The City of Great Bend's water billing is handled at its Front Door facility. The city is looking at an automated water meter reading system.

Effective at 1 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 3, , the City of Great Bend’s Front Door utilities office at 1615 Tenth St. was closed due to a positive COVID-19 exposure, the city announced Thursday morning. The Front Door will reopen Monday, Dec. 14. 

Payments will be received online or at one of the drop box locations (10th Street Dillon’s, City Hall and the Front Door), or by auto bank drafts. Late payment penalties and utility shut offs will be discontinued until Feb. 1, 2021. 

There will be no new meeting room rentals booked during this time. However, the scheduled rentals need to call City Hall at 620-793-4111 to make special arrangements.
