Half of eligible Barton County residents have received one dose of COVID-19 vaccine

No cases of COVID-19 cases in Kansas have been attributed to the Omicron variant as of Monday morning, the Kansas Department of Health and Environment reports.

KDHE reports that 50.64% of people age 5 years and older in Barton County have been vaccinated with at least one dose and 46.18% (11,207 residents) have completed the vaccine series.

As of 9 a.m. Monday, there have been 477,789 COVID-19 cases, resulting in 15,971 hospitalizations and 6,743 statewide deaths over the course of the pandemic. There were 3,310 new cases, 77 new hospitalizations and 13 new deaths reported since Friday, Dec. 3. This includes two new deaths in Stafford County.

Hospitalizations 

• As of 9 a.m. Monday, Barton County has reported 152 hospitalizations attributed to COVID-19 over the course of the pandemic, an increase of three since last Friday. The number of intensive care unit (ICU) admissions to date remained unchanged at 30. The 104 discharged patients reported to KDHE to date represent an increase of one. The median age of patients admitted so far in December is 45.

• Pawnee County has reported 69 hospital admissions, 15 ICU admissions and 47 discharged patients to date. These numbers were unchanged from Nov. 29.

• Stafford County reported one new hospital admission and one new ICU admission, bringing the totals to 29 and 11, respectively. The number of discharged patients reported to date was unchanged at 19.
