Kansas sees 600th COVID-19 related death

Barton County has had 441 positive cases of COVID-19 confirmed as of Monday, County Administrator Phil Hathcock said. That represents an increase of 14 new cases since Friday. These were seven males and seven females; two reside in Ellinwood and 12 reside in Great Bend.

To date, Barton County has reported five COVID-19 related deaths; 144 positive cases remain active. There have been 2,744 quarantine or isolation orders issued and 501 of those remain active.

Statewide

The Kansas Department of Health and Environment on Monday reported there have been 53,959 positive cases, 2,706 hospitalizations and 600 deaths statewide. There were 1,674 new cases and four new deaths reported since Friday, Sept. 18. There have been 430,732 negative tests.


Nationwide

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention on Monday reported there have been 6,786,352 total cases and 199,024 deaths in the United States.


Globally

The Coronavirus Resource Center at Johns Hopkins University of Medicine reports there have been 31.1 million global cases and 962,008 global deaths
