Most area counties saw new COVID-19 cases this week

Nearly 2.4 million doses of COVID-19 vaccine have been distributed in Kansas as of Friday morning, according to the Kansas Department of Health and Environment. The state has distributed 1,842,380 doses and another 552,710 doses have been distributed through the federal pharmacy program.

To date, 1,092,869 Kansans – 37.5% of the total population – have received one dose and 720,397 have received a second dose as well.

As of Friday, there have been 307,372 COVID-19 cases statewide, resulting in 10,040 hospitalizations and 4,968 deaths. There were 489 new cases, five new deaths and 43 new hospitalizations since Wednesday.

Here are KDHE’s total COVID-19 cases and probable cases for area counties on Friday. There have been no new deaths reported in these counties.

• Pawnee 1,150 (+4)

• Rice 1,070 (+2)

KDHE amends travel quarantine list

On Thursday, KDHE has amended its travel quarantine list to add the state of Minnesota and the countries of Argentina, Aruba, Bahrain, Croatia, Cyprus, France, Sweden and Turkey. The state of Connecticut and countries San Marino, Estonia and Jordan were removed from the quarantine list.
