Nine new COVID-19 cases in Barton County were reported Tuesday morning, representing three males and six females. Barton County Public Information Officer released the update at 10:30 a.m. The new cases are comprised of three Great Bend residents, four Hoisington residents and two rural Barton County residents.

This follows six new COVID-19 cases reported Saturday evening. Those cases involved four males and two females; four live in Great Bend and two live in rural Barton County.

As of Tuesday morning, Barton County has had 148 positive cases (68 males and 80 females) and 43 of those are active. There have been three deaths.

The county has issued 1,284 quarantine or isolation orders to date and 262 of those are still active.

Statewide, there have been 31,241 cases, resulting in 380 deaths, as of Monday, Aug. 10. There have been 1,911 hospitalizations and 294,939 negative tests.

In the Golden Belt, Stafford County has reported its fourth case, an increase of 1 since last week. The numbers remained unchanged for Pawnee and Rush counties, each at 9, and Ellsworth County, at 21. Rice County’s 30 cases have grown to 38 and Russell County’s 15 are now 18.
