Nine positive cases reported this week

Two new positive COVID-19 cases were identified Sunday in Barton County, according to County Public Information Officer Donna Zimmerman. The cases involved two females who reside in Hoisington.

Seven more were reported Tuesday morning. These involved three males and four females; two reside in Great Bend, four in Hoisington and one in rural Barton County.

To date, there have been 123 positive cases – 57 males and 66 females – and 35 of those cases are active. The county has issued 1,124 quarantine or isolation orders and 289 of those are active. Three deaths have been attributed to COVID-19.

The Kansas Department of Health and Environment updates statewide COVID-19 statistics every Monday, Wednesday and Friday.

As of Monday, Kansas has had 28,876 positive cases, resulting in 1,782 hospitalizations and 365 deaths. There were 1,064 new cases and seven new deaths from Friday, July 31.
