USD 428 down to 2 active COVID-19 cases
No area COVID-29 deaths reported since Feb.9

Great Bend USD 428 started the week with only two active, positive COVID-19 cases throughout the district.

Two active cases were reported at Special Services, with no active cases in other buildings. USD 428 updated its statistics at 2:15 p.m. Monday.

For the 2021-2022 school year, the district has reported 567 resolved cases.

Statewide

The Kansas Department of Health and Environment did not update its COVID-19 data dashboard on Friday due to system maintenance. New data was posted Monday.

Numbers for Monday, as well as some numbers for last Friday, are now available.

As of 9 a.m. Friday, Feb. 11, there were 756,241 COVID-19 cases from 105 counties, resulting in 18,833 hospitalizations and 7,846 statewide deaths. There were 3,267 new cases, 212 new hospitalizations and 26 new deaths reported since Wednesday, Feb. 9.

As of 9 a.m. Monday, Feb. 14, Kansas has had 758,237 COVID-19 cases, resulting in 18,966 hospitalizations and 7,860 statewide deaths over the course of the pandemic. There were 1,996 new cases, 83 new hospitalizations and 14 new deaths reported since Friday.

There were no new area deaths reported since last Wednesday.

Hospitalizations

The Great Bend Tribune also reports on COVID-19-related hospitalizations in Barton, Pawnee and Stafford counties.

• As of 9 a.m. Monday, Barton County has reported 172 hospitalizations attributed to COVID-19 over the course of the pandemic, including 32 intensive care unit (ICU) admissions to date, and 113 discharged patients reported to KDHE. This reflects one new hospitalization since last Wednesday. The median age for patients admitted in February is 72.

• Pawnee County has reported 75 hospital admissions, 15 ICU admissions and 50 discharged patients to date. These numbers were unchanged from last Wednesday. The median age for patients admitted in February is 62.

• Stafford County has reported 36 hospital admissions, 15 ICU admissions and 23 discharged patients to date. Admission numbers have not changed since Jan. 5.
