Barton County and the counties surrounding it have no COVID-19 clusters this week, according to the Kansas Department of Health and Environment’s weekly cluster list, which was updated on Wednesday, Jan. 20.
KDHE publishes the names of locations that have five or more COVID-19 cases with symptom onset dates in the last 14 days. This week there are 346 active clusters in the state, representing 14,240 cases, 565 hospitalizations and 622 deaths.
State statistics
KDHE reports there have been 263,412 COVID-19 cases, resulting in 7,930 hospitalizations and 3,575 statewide deaths as of 9 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 20. There were 3,590 new cases, 50 new deaths and 123 new hospitalizations reported since Monday, Jan. 18.
Here are the total cases by county of residence, followed by the total deaths in area counties, as of Wednesday, with the changes since Monday:
• Barton, 2,445 cases (+10); 40 deaths (+1)
• Ellsworth, 1,149 (+8); 18 (unchanged)
• Pawnee, 1,085 (+5); 9 (+1)
• Rice, 949 (+10); 5 (unchanged)
• Rush, 402 (+2); 10 (unchanged)
• Russell, 785 (+4); 21 (+1)
• Stafford, 311 (unchanged); 8 (unchanged)
Vaccinations
Kansas WebIZ is reporting 129,349 COVID-19 vaccine doses have been administered in Kansas as of noon Wednesday. This includes first and second doses; 3.8% of Kansans have been vaccinated.
