No new COVID-19 cases, deaths or clusters reported in Barton County
One hospital admission and discharge reported

No area locations were listed as COVID-19 clusters by the Kansas Department of Health and Environment this week.

Every Wednesday, KDHE publishes locations that have had five or more COVID-19 cases with symptom onset in the last 14 days. This week, three long-term care facilities were listed: Minneola District Hospital Long Term Care Unit in Minneola, Moundridge Manor in Moundridge, and The Forum in Overland Park.

As of 9 a.m. Wednesday, Kansas has had 769,598 COVID-19 cases, resulting in 19,981 hospitalizations and 8,198 deaths statewide. There were 265 new cases, 87 new hospitalizations and 48 new deaths reported since Monday.


Area cases

Case totals are preliminary and are subject to change. Pawnee County's case total was reduced by one on Monday and was reduced by one more on Wednesday. Here are case totals for area counties as of 9 a.m. Wednesday, with any change since Monday:

• Pawnee 2,117 (-1)

• Rice 2,609 (+1)

• Rush 806 (+0)

• Russell 1,873 (+0)

• Stafford 1,136 (+1)


Area deaths

Here are the COVID-related death totals for area counties as of 9 a.m. Wednesday. There have been no new deaths reported since Friday, March 18.

Hospitalizations

The Great Bend Tribune also reports on COVID-19-related hospitalizations in Barton, Pawnee and Stafford counties.  As of 9 a.m. Wednesday, Barton County has reported 177 hospitalizations attributed to COVID-19 over the course of the pandemic, including 32 intensive care unit (ICU) admissions to date, and 115 discharged patients reported to KDHE. This represents one new admission and one new release reported since Monday.

• Pawnee County has reported 77 hospital admissions, 15 ICU admissions and 51 discharged patients to date. These numbers have not changed since March 11. 

• Stafford County has reported 36 hospital admissions, 15 ICU admissions and 23 discharged patients to date. These numbers have not changed since Jan. 5.
