One new case, one death reported Saturday afternoon

Barton County officials announced a new positive case of COVID-19 had been confirmed Saturday afternoon. This involved a female from Great Bend. The third COVID-19-related death in Barton County was also confirmed in a news release issued by Barton County Administrator Phil Hathcock. 

“Barton County received information from a medical provider today in regards to the recent death of a previously confirmed COVID-19 case,” Hathcock stated. “This death will be reported to Vital Statistics as a confirmed COVID-19 related death in Barton County.

“Our heartfelt sympathy goes to the family, friends and caregivers.”

This information updates the report on https://gbtribune.com/news/community-covid-19/barton-county-sees-four-more-covid-19-cases/ posted by the Great Bend Tribune on Friday, which noted six new cases confirmed on Friday. The number of positive cases is now 75, with 19 active cases. The number of active quarantine/isolation orders is now 171.
