Rush County now has a confirmed case of COVID-19, according to the Rush County Health Department.
“The case involves an adult male with known history of contact with a positive out of county individual,” a notice on the health department’s website states. “Rush County Health Department is working to identify any close contacts of the individual and those that have been exposed will be notified by the health department. The individual has been in home isolation and is doing well. No further information about the patient will be released.
“It is important to remember to take precautions like washing your hands, covering your cough, and staying home when you are ill. Most people with mild symptoms will recover in a short amount of time.”
According to state figures updated by the Kansas Department of Health and Environment on Monday, June 29, there were 14,443 cases from 97 counties with 270 deaths as of 9 a.m.
The previous report, on Friday, June 26, showed 13,538 cases from 95 counties with 264 deaths reported as of 9 a.m. The other county showing its first case Monday was Lincoln.
