COVID-19 was attributed to five new deaths reported in Barton County on Friday, as the total for the pandemic rose from 76 on Wednesday to 81. As of 9 a.m. Friday, Kansas has had 722,824 COVID-19 cases, resulting in 18,184 hospitalizations and 7,522 statewide deaths. There were 12,986 new cases, 105 new hospitalizations and 134 new deaths reported since Wednesday.
Barton County started the week with 75 COVID-related deaths reported on Monday, Jan. 24, an increase of one from Friday, Jan. 21. One more death was reported Wednesday morning.

• As of 9 a.m. Friday, Barton County has reported 168 hospitalizations attributed to COVID-19 over the course of the pandemic, including 31 intensive care unit (ICU) admissions to date, and 111 discharged patients reported to KDHE. These numbers reflect an increase of one hospitalization since Wednesday. The median age of COVID-19 patients admitted this month is 83.
• Pawnee County has reported 73 hospital admissions, 15 ICU admissions and 48 discharged patients to date. These numbers were unchanged from Wednesday. The median age of COVID-19 patients admitted this month is 93.
• Stafford County has reported 36 hospital admissions, 15 ICU admissions and 23 discharged patients to date. Admission numbers have not changed since Jan. 5.
