One male and one female, both living in Great Bend, are the latest Barton County residents reported as testing positive for COVID-19. The two cases were announced Wednesday morning by the county’s Public Information Officer Donna Zimmerman.
There have been 81 positive cases in the county, 38 males and 43 females. There are 22 active cases and there have been three deaths in which COVID-19 was listed as a factor.

Nationwide, nearly 3.9 million people have been infected with the novel coronavirus and 141,677 have died, as of Wednesday, July 22, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
Statewide, the Kansas Department of Health and Environment (https://www.coronavirus.kdheks.gov/) reported that as of 9 a.m. Wednesday, there have been 24,104 cases from 103 counties, resulting in 1,545 hospitalizations and 308 deaths. There have been 244,582 negative tests.
