Great Bend Economic Development/Great Bend Main Street announced that a project in Great Bend has been selected by Lieutenant Governor and Commerce Secretary David Toland as one of the recipients of the Residential Opportunities on Main Street (ROOMS) program. This program will provide $50,000 each to eight projects in designated Kansas Main Street communities to create new residential units in the upper floors of downtown buildings.
Multiple property owners in Great Bend applied for the grant, demonstrating their serious commitment to revitalizing Great Bend’s Main Street properties, said Economic Development Director Sara Arnberger.
Great Bend Economic Development/Main Street is pleased to see so many local property owners’ efforts toward positive progress in the historic buildings on Main Street, she stated in a news release.
