Doris L. Robey will celebrate her 80th birthday with a formal celebration at 1 p.m. on March 15 at The Front Door, 1615 10th Street in Great Bend. Hosts for the event will be her daughters Myrtle and Nancy. Friends and family are invited. Gifts and cards are welcome.
Doris was born on March 17, 1934 in Camden, N.J. On Sept. 4, 1952 she married William H. Robey. He died on Oct. 16, 1973. In July 1971, the family moved to Kansas. She has been employed in childcare, clerical, janitorial and hotel management until retiring in 1992. She has seven children, William (Bill) Robey of Wichita, John Robey and wife Sandy of Yuma, Ariz., Myrtle (Myrt) Sturdivant "Robey" and friend Ron of Wichita, Loretta Lasiter and husband Rick of Eureka, Nancy Ledesma and husband Herman of Great Bend, and the late Donald Robey and the late Gerald (Gerry) Robey. Doris resides in Great Bend with roommate Harry Woodard. She enjoys her 17 grandchildren; 14 step-grandchildren- 33 great-grandchildren, 19 step-great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.
