James (Jim) Oliver will celebrate his 90th birthday on July 29, with a card shower.
Jim was born in Madison in 1924, and graduated from KU in 1946. He served in the United States Navy during World War II. On Jan. 14, 1951, he married Madalene Mosier in Great Bend. He worked at Western Power for many years and retired in 1986 from Sunflower Electric. He has three daughters, Jan (Stan) Stegelman of Topeka, Nancy (Mark) Crane, of Wichita and Linda (Scott) Chisholm of Great Bend; eight grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
