Jim Thurman will celebrate his 90th birthday on May 30, with a family gathering at the family farm in Rozel.
Jim was born May 30, 1925 and was raised in Rozel. His wife, Darlene, died in 1997. A lifelong resident of Central Kansas, living in Great Bend since 1958, he is a retired independent insurance agent and former may of Great Bend. His children are, Pamala Larsen and Tom Thompson of Fort Collins, Colo., Craig and Mary Thurman of Overland Park, Doug Thurman and Judy Hageman of Hays, Denise Parker and Dan Pfannenstiel of Dodge City, and Marisa and Kevin Struckhoff of Fort Collins, Colo. He has 15 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren.
