Opal A. Weaver will celebrate her 101st birthday Sept. 21, with a card shower.
Opal was born in Crosses, Ark. but spent the majority of her life in central Kansas. She married L. P. Weaver in 1937, and they resided in Holyrood where they raised their six children. Opal moved from Cedar Park Place in Great Bend in 2013 to Country Place Senior Living in Larned.
Helping Opal to celebrate will be her children Max and JaNelda Manor of Wamego, Gene and Karen Weaver of Wichita, Donna Campbell of Larned, Keith and Oleta Beckwith of Great Bend, Terry and Carolyn Holland of Baton Rouge, La., and Gary Pillard of Marysville and the late Vicki Pillard. She has 15 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren.
