Patty Fairbanks of Great Bend will celebrate her 90th birthday with a reception from 2-4 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 14, at the First Congregational United Church of Christ, 3400 21st Street in the Fellowship Hall. Hosts for the event will be her family.
Patricia Ann Gean was born Oct. 16, 1927, to Lott and Maude Gean on her grandparents’ farm near Abilene. She married Robert (Bob) F. Fairbanks on June 18, 1947, in Dodge City. Bob died in July of 1988 after the couple had spent 41 wonderful years together.
Bob and Patty had three children, Robert (Bob) G. Fairbanks, William H. (Bill) Fairbanks, and Nancy G. McAllister and husband Clayton. Grandchildren include Stephanie Irvine and husband Brandon, Toby Hogan, Josh McAllister, Evan McAllister and wife Kristin, and Carrie Parks. Great-Grandchildren are Addyson and Wyatt Irvine, Baze and Brooks Hogan, and Cameron McAllister.
