Basilia Vieyra, formerly from Larned, will celebrate her 102nd birthday on September 11, 2010 with a pot luck meal hosted by her family at the St. Nicholas Catholic School Gym, 706 E. 6th St., Kinsley, from  noon till 5 p.m.  Friends are invited to stop by to wish her a “Happy Birthday”. 

She was born to Ricardo and Sanjuana Hernandez Chavez on September 10, 1908 in La Aldea, Gjto., Mexico.  She married Pasqual Vieyra on May 1, 1926 at St. Theresa’ Catholic Church in Hutchinson,.  He died October 7, 1971.  They had seven sons and five daughters.  

Hosts for the celebration will be her children and families, Alex and Sally, Hutchinson, Joe and Sandy Castor, Schaumburg, IL, Frank and Alice, Hutchinson, Pete and Julia Castaneda, Lewis, Joe and Sandy, Larned, Benny and Ardis, La Crosse, Lile Perez, Larned, Frances Earegood, Larned, and Richard and Mary Ann, Junction City.  Basilia has 49 grandchildren, 108 great grandchildren and 44 great-great grandchildren who will gather with their families to celebrate this memorable occasion.
