Roxanne Mayers of Great Bend announces the engagement of her daughter, Janelle Mayers to Derek Riner, son of Bill and Sue Riner of Scott City. The bride-elect is the daughter of the late Steven Mayers.
The bride-elect is a 1999 graduate of Great Bend High School. She graduated from Barton Community College in 2011 with an associate’s degree in Science. She is employed by MGM Properties as property manager and at Charlie’s Place as a bartender, both in Great Bend.
The prospective groom is a 2001 graduate of Scott City High School. He graduated in 2006 from Kansas State University-Salina as an airway science professional pilot. He is employed by AirMD d.b.a. LifeTeam Great Bend headquartered in Newton.
The wedding is planned for April 28 at the First Christian Church in Great Bend.
