Paul and Dixie Tipling, formerly of Great Bend, now residing in Salina, announce the engagement of their daughter, Lindsey Jan Tipling, to Christian Kelly Bates, son of Kelly and Janet Bates of Clearwater.
The bride-elect is a 2000 graduate of Great Bend High School. In 2005 she graduated from Kansas State University. She is employed as a journalism teacher, residing in Lawrence.
The prospective groom is a 2007 graduate of Clearwater High School. He attended the University of Kansas. He is employed by World Market of Lawrence.
The wedding is planned for Oct. 15 in Salina.
