Charging stations at the Ellinwood School/Community Library were made possible by a grant from the Golden Belt Community Foundation.

In 2002, Golden Belt Community Foundation made its first grants to libraries across the four-county area for $250 each. It was exciting, and the foundation’s work as a philanthropic organization has continued. Last December, in celebrating the 25th anniversary of the Golden Belt Community Foundation, the Board of Directors and staff thought it would be exciting to “recreate” the library grants from the beginning. Ellinwood School/Community Library received an $800 grant from the foundation in 2021 to be used to support youth programs and/or materials for the library. Some of the funding was used to add charging stations.

Libraries are an important part of the community and improve the quality of life for children and families. The Golden Belt Community Foundation is honored to work with each library and community to help support the important work that is being done.

The charging stations we ordered to benefit our MS/HS students, as well as our staff and community patrons, have been set up this week! Thank you to the Golden Belt Community Foundation for this generous donation!
