National Lets Move Day

“Let’s Move!”a national organization with the initiative to decrease childhood obesity is planning a day this month to raise national awareness and to get America active, at least for one day. “Let’s Move Day” is being held across America on Sept. 25. Dr. Bell Razafindrabe, of The Spine Clinic, and the Great Bend Seventh-day Adventist Church, are encouraging the community to get involved in the day with free activities for all ages.
Register by calling 620-792-2991 or 620-791-7314. T-Shirts are available at a cost of $7 but are not required to participate in the event.
Registration begins at 9 a.m. in the church parking lot, one mile west of 10th and Patton. Using the nearby walking and bike trail, people can participate in a 2K walk, a 5K run, a 10 mile or a 20 mile cyclist route.
Let’s Move! is a comprehensive initiative, launched by First Lady Michelle Obama, dedicated to solving America’s problem of childhood obesity. The Great Bend Seventh-day Adventist Church and Dr. Bell Razafindrabe of the Spine Clinic are hoping the community will do its part to bring awareness to that goal, and to help the country log a million miles for “Lets Move Day”  Let’s work together to make Great Bend a “Let’s Move City.”
