This is a nationwide effort to recognize the efforts of those who serve Friendship Meals to seniors. This program is offered in the month of March and public officials are invited to participate. The Great Bend-based Eldercare is the local sponsoring, agency for the meals, covering 28 southwest Kansas counties. “They encourage us to invite mayors in to help serve.”
Friendship meals is a federal program that offers food service at sites across the country Rozena Tomlin Senior Center Director and Friendship Meals manager encourages and welcomes all new participants to attend the noon meal Monday - Friday. We do ask that you make a reservation by 9 a.m. by calling 792-3906. Also have frozen meals and carry outs by same reservation. Over age 60 is a suggested contribution of$3. Under 60 is full cost of $5.
