The Great Bend Pilot club annually honors one of its members by designing that member as the Pilot International Club Ambassador. Betty Schneider was chosen as the Great Bend Pilot International Ambassador for 2023-2024.

The PI Ambassador is a member who has an active role within the club, they attend meetings, give generously of their time to assist with service projects and fundraising activities, and promote and support local club and Pilot International’s core areas of service of brain safety and fitness, according to a release from the Great Bend club. They also care for individuals in times of need.

The Pilot Club of Great Bend made a contribution to the Pilot International Founders Fund in Schneider’s honor. The Pilot International Founders Fund provides scholarships that support graduate and undergraduate students working in the fields related to Pilot International’s main areas of focus and service.  

Pilot International and its local Pilot clubs are able to improve the lives of others through educational programs, volunteerism, financial support and research. 

Pilot club is always looking for members and volunteers to carry out its aims to “Do More. Care More. Be More.” The club regularly meets at noon on the first and third Tuesdays of the month and at 5:15 p.m. on the fifth Tuesdays at Perkins Restaurant, 2920 10th St. those interested in wanting to learn more about Pilot club are welcome to attend.
