Katherine Nicole Showalter and Andrew Joseph Flax were married June 3, 2017, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Ness City in a ceremony officiated by Father Pascal Klein and Father Jason Borkenhagen, cousin of the groom. Parents of the couple are Adam and Janice Showalter of Alexander, and Cletus and Pat Flax of Brownell. Grandparents of the couple are Helen Koerner and Lee Showalter of Alexander, Pat Showalter of Bazine, and the late Laurel and Darlene Sargent, the late Francis and Marjorie Flax, and the late Ervin Koerner.
Maid of honor was Emma Showalter, sister of the bride. Junior maid of honor was Elizabeth Showalter, sister of the bride. Bridesmaids were Amy Flax, sister of the groom, Lauren Sargent, cousin of the groom, and Jensen Scheele and Kaetlin Weninger.
Best man was Tyler Flax, brother of the groom. Groomsmen were Jacob Showalter and Michael Showalter, brothers of the bride, and Colton Rein and Daniel Hair.
The bride is a 2013 graduate of Western Plains High School and is pursuing a degree in Biology and Secondary Education at Fort Hays State University. She is student teaching at Trego Community High School.
The groom is a 2014 graduate of Western Plains High School and a 2016 graduate of Fort Hays State University with a degree in Agricultural Business. He is employed by the First State Bank of Ransom.
Following a honeymoon cruise to Alaska, the newlyweds are at home in Ransom.
