Barton Community College’s Board of Trustees is expected to hire eight new employees during the November business meeting, set for 4 p.m. Thursday in room F-30 of the Fine Arts Building. Five of the new staff members were on the October agenda, but the board was unable to take action due to lack of a quorum. None of the new hire are teachers; the list includes a security officer, customer service representatives and other staff.

Other items on the agenda include a presentation on Career Pathways and IPED Data Feedback report. The Integrated Postsecondary Education Data System is a system of survey components that collects data from nearly 6,700 postsecondary education institutions across the United States. The data are used at the federal and state level for policy analysis and development; at the institutional level for benchmarking and peer analysis; and by students and parents, through the College Navigator (http://collegenavigator.ed.gov), to aid in the college search process.
