The Barton Community College Board of Trustees will not have a study session this week as previously scheduled. Instead, board members will travel to Junction City and Fort Riley on Thursday, March 8, for a retreat.
The tentative agenda for March 8-9 includes touring the Fort Riley instructional facility at 10 a.m. After the tour, the meeting will continue at the Hampton Inn, located at 1039 South Washington St. in Junction City. At that location board members will review of Fort Riley services and budgets, MOST (training), Fort Leavenworth assessment, service needs for Fort Riley, the 2001 Kansas Department of Education/Kansas Board of Regents review of Barton/Fort Riley services, and the 2012-13 tuition and fees.
In the evening, they will meet with Fort Riley faculty and staff at Kite’s Bar and Grille, 602 North Washington Street, Junction City. The meeting will adjourn around 7 p.m.
On Friday, March 9, the plan is to continue the retreat at the Hampton Inn from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. Board members will be meeting with Fort Riley personnel.
