The Barton County Sheriff’s Office will conduct selective enforcement at an area near Barton Community College from 7:45-10 a.m. on Thursday, Sept. 19. Sheriff Brian Bellendir said the deputies will patrol NE 30 Road between U.S. 281 and K-156. The enforcement action will also extend south of NE 30 Road on NE 10 Ave. and NE 20 Ave.
Deputies will be paying particular attention to speed and safety belt violations.
“The Sheriff’s Office selects locations where violations and accidents are at an increased level,” Bellendir stated in a news release. “It is not the goal of the Sheriff’s Office to write citations, but to gain compliance from the motoring public through education and advance notice of our enforcement activities. We ask that all drivers in Barton County please obey traffic laws and wear your seat belts. Please drive safely."
