The Citizens Watchdog Association will hold an ice cream social at 7 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 1, at Rosewood Galleries, 1607 Main Street, Great Bend. The group is a neighborhood watch association open to burglary victims and anyone concerned about crime in the community.

Members also plan to attend the sentencing of a convicted burglar. That hearing is currently scheduled for 1:30 p.m. on Sept. 6 on the third floor of the Barton County Courthouse.
