Collision sends two to hospital

Two people were taken to Central Kansas Medical Center on Monday after cars collided on NE 30 Road and NE 10 Ave., three miles north and one mile east of Great Bend.

According to the Kansas Highway Patrol Online Crash Logs, the accident occurred around 6:30 p.m. when a Chrysler driven by Jerome J. Gerstenkorn, 76, Great Bend, stopped at the NE 30 Road Stop sign and then pulled out in front of a Chevrolet passenger car driven by Bailey Ann Avery, 18, of Wichita. Gerstenkorn and his wife, Magdalene Irene Gerstenkorn, were transported to the hospital in Great Bend with undetermined injuries. Avery and her three passengers were not injured. All were wearing seat belts.
