The date of the Barton County Spelling Bee has been moved from Feb. 12 to Feb. 5, and now is back on Feb. 12, a spokesman for the Great Bend Noon Kiwanis said. However, now the location has been moved. The spelling bee will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 12, at the Great Bend Middle School gymnasium.

Scheduling conflicts made the Great Bend High School Auditorium unavailable on the 12th, precipitating the first change. Then the date change didn’t work for all bee participants.

On March 12, the Great Bend Tribune will host the Sunflower Spelling Bee, a regional qualifiers for the Scripps National Spelling Bee.
