The Barton County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the reported theft of 1,600 gallons of diesel fuel from a tanker car on a K and O Railroad train.

The theft was reported Monday and occurred at NE 20 Ave. and K-4. Sheriff Brian Bellendir said someone must have approached the train while it was stopped on the tracks with a truck and a barrel pump or something of that nature.
