An ambulance was summoned after two cars collided Wednesday morning on U.S. 281 at NE 20 Road, but both drivers refused medical treatment at the scene, the Barton County Sheriff’s Office reports.

At 11:20 a.m., Michael Lynn Reimer II, 34, of rural Great Bend, was stopped on the highway at NE 20 Road, waiting to turn west. Another vehicle that was northbound passed on the right. Balderrama Omar Herrera, 18, St. John, was in a third vehicle and hit the back of Reimer’s car because he did not see it in time.

Great Bend Fire Department Ambulance and Kansas Highway Patrol responded.
