DUI suspects run from police

A Great Bend Police officer attempted to stop a 2004 Ford pickup that was reported as having a possible intoxicated driver, at 6:57 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 21, on Broadway Ave. When the officer made contact with the driver, Dwight Check of Pueblo, Colo., Check reportedly sped off. Check was stopped in the Blockbuster parking lot and arrested for driving under the influence. He reportedly had a blood alcohol content level of 0.21. Check was released Thursday after posting a $1,000 surety bond.
In an unrelated incident at 11:43 p.m. Friday, an officer attempted to stop a vehicle in the 2400 block of 10th St. Rodolfo Zambrano-Herrera then fled on foot. Barton County Sheriff’s Office assisted in the chase. The suspect was arrested and booked into the Barton County Jail on charges of flee and elude, no driver’s license, illegal transportation of liquor and speeding. Bond was set at $1,000.
