Daryl Ferguson of Great Bend went home with the first-place prize of $750 at Sunday’s Sunflower Diversified Services poker tournament. Arlene Manning of Ellinwood took second for $300, and Dwight Nett of Kingman won $150 for third place.

The fourth through eighth-place prizes of $75 down to $25 went to Trey Schartz of Great Bend, Ben Niethamer of Great Bend, Al Soukup of Dorrance, Roger Bunn of Great Bend and Marvin Koch of Ellinwood.

"Each poker player can take satisfaction in knowing that by participating in our tournament, they are directly helping people with developmental disabilities," said Connie Oetken, Sunflower director of development. "Every cent we raise goes directly to our neighbors who have special needs."

Sunflower serves babies, toddlers and adults in Barton, Pawnee, Rice, Rush and Stafford counties. The non-profit agency is celebrating its 45th anniversary this year.
