DeleteThe Friends of Great Bend Public Library are planning several activities to celebrate National Library Week, April 8-14.
The public is invited to go to the library on Monday and sign a card thanking the staff for all they do for the community.
On Wednesday people can stop by the library from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. for a free cup of coffee and a cookie. While there, they are invited to check out the Friends Book Sale shelf. Volunteer members of the Friends conduct a big book sale in the fall, but throughout the year they sort books that are donated and place select titles on the shelf, where they are available to purchase.
The Friends of Great Bend Public Library is a group of supporters of the public library. Its goals include raising funds to assist with programs at the library and to spread the word about the great asset the library is to the community.
Memberships are available at the library. Dues are $10 for individuals and $20 for a family.
