Golden Belt Home Health & Hospice (GBHH&H) will sponsor a Monday evening grief support group in Great Bend from Nov. 18 through Feb. 3, with holiday breaks on Dec. 23 and 30. It will meet each Monday from 6:30 to 8 p.m. in Conference Room 103 of the Medical Building at 3520 Lakin Ave.; entrance is on Lincoln Street.
Hospice Chaplain John Grummon and GBHH&H Social Worker Cathy Soeken will co-facilitate the support group. “Guided by qualified facilitators, group members will provide support and healing for one another,” Grummon said. “This group setting becomes a safe place to share while doing the important work of mourning and learning new ways to approach problems.”
Soeken noted that all discussions are confidential. “Participants can feel free to share their feelings, thoughts and experiences. Sharing memories, photos, poetry or other significant mementos is encouraged. This is a good way to allow other group members the opportunity to know more about the loved ones being mourned.”
Anyone interested in attending the grief support group may contact Grummon or Soeken for further details by calling 620-792-8171.
