Hit-and-run car reported stolen

A hit-and-run injury accident occurred at 12th and Williams St. at 9:20 a.m. Saturday. The man allegedly driving the vehicle that left the scene was southbound on Williams St. and ran a stop sign, striking a vehicle driven by Loretta K. Miller. He then left the area and parked at 1105 Morton St., then left on foot. The car was located at 9:26 a.m. Brass knuckles were found in the car and booked as evidence.
At 10:19 a.m., police received a report that the suspect and a woman were seen running into a house at 701 Morphy St.
The owner of the car called the police and reported his car had been stolen at 9:50 a.m. from 1419 Lakin Ave. Police were unable to take a case at the time because officers were unable to find him.
