Hoisington woman hurt when car hits deer

A Hoisington woman was taken to Clara Barton Hospital in Hoisington after the car she was driving hit a deer at 8:30 p.m. Thursday on U.S. 281, eight miles north of Great Bend. Kansas Highway Patrol reports Kristin Marie Roat, 25, was driving a 2011 Kia and was wearing a seat belt. The Barton County Sheriff’s Office also responded to the scene and noted the car sustained heavy front-end damage and air bags deployed.
