Heartland Center for Spirituality in Great Bend will show the 1960 movie “Inherit the Wind” at 6:15 tonight at the Dominican Sister Motherhouse, 3600 Broadway Ave. The movie is presented as part of the Movies with a Message Series. Refreshments will be served, and there will be discussion time after the movie. A freewill donation is requested.
The Evolution vs. Creationism argument is debated in this powerful depiction of the 1925 “Monkey Trial,” that pitted two great lawyers against each other in the court and even on the witness stand. Spencer Tracey, Gene Kelly and other stars bring the trial to life, exploring the boundaries between science, religion and political life. Run time is 128 minutes.
Other movies for the fall include “Strike” (2006) on Nov. 15 and “Monsieur Vincent” (1947) on Dec. 6.
