Donna Krug will talk about fresh vegetables and fruit during the program “Seasonal & Simple,” which she will present twice this week. The free program will be given at noon Tuesday, Sept. 10, at the Great Bend Activity Center, 2715 18th St., and at 1 p.m. Thursday at the Senior Center, 2005 Kansas Ave. The programs are sponsored by the Great Bend Recreation Commission.
There is nothing tastier than a ripe fruit or vegetable when it is in season, says Krug, Barton County family and consumer science agent for the K-State Research and Extension Office. Not only does it taste good, but the nutrients are at their highest level. Whether you grow your own garden or visit the farmers market you can make healthy food choices.
