Library to close for holidays; January movies announced

The Great Bend Public Library will be closed Tuesday and Wednesday for Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, as well as Tuesday, Dec. 30, and Wednesday, Jan. 1 for the New Year’s holiday.
On Jan. 3, it will be time for more free movies and popcorn at the library, said Jennifer King, marketing director.
The After-School Movie, “Despicable Me 2,” will be shown at 3:30 p.m. for kids of all ages.
The Adults’ Night Out Movie will be show at 7 p.m. for anyone 18 and older. In that movie: Native American spirit warrior Tonto recounts the untold tales that transformed John Reid, a man of the law, into a legend of justice – taking the audience on a runaway train of epic surprises and humorous friction as the two unlikely heroes must learn to work together and fight against greed and corruption.

On Jan. 6, the Teen Spot will show “Man of Steel” at 4 p.m. for Teen Movie Monday. It is open to students in grades 7-12.
