A free Great Bend Recreation Commission program will show that flying model airplanes isn’t just for kids, GBRC Program Coordinator Garet Fitzpatrick said. Members from the Model Association of Central Kansas (MACK) will share information about the hobby from noon to 1 p.m. Wednesday at the Great Bend Activity Center, 2715 18th St.

Members will talk about types of model airplanes, the local MACK flying field, what it costs to get involved in modeling, local events and the national Academy of Model Aeronautics. There will be models on display and indoor flight demonstrations.
